Do I need a learner licence to ride an electric scooter?

My friend got a fine recently for riding electric scooter.. reason wasn't clear enough. I thought it was for carrying a person with him while he thinks it's because he didn't wear helmet as he thinks it's not a requirement. We will know in 1+ year lol

Electric scooter doesn't have a defined protocol yet. You should call Traffic Branch at Line Barracks on 2121212.

What business can we do with a 7 perch land?

One good busines nowadays is rental. Make simple rooms with a kitchen, wc, bathroom and rent on long term. Good investment which isn't affected by seasonality like plantation lol

Though, Im more for greenery...

The evolution in the standard of living in Mauritius

It's a funnily interesting question. Sounds like a GP question which brings me to wonder whether you are not a student looking for job done easily.

I would want someone to answer your question though because I personally think that some Mauritians are getting richer while others poorer.

And though education is free with the possibility of needy students being offered financial help, those coming from low economic status are not taking this advantage. And academically speaking, the quality of education is decreasing with too many factors affecting their need and want to study.

Many Mauritians spend more than they can afford and live on loans. They need to have sat-channels or Iphones rather than an appropriate house to live in. High loan interest, no savings.

Materially speaking, there is inflation but not that high. We can still afford a decent meal but with so many fast food options, people do not realise that with Rs1000 spent on Pizzas for a day, they can buy a month's vegetables.

And finally, most of us pay more attention to our wants than needs. The generation coming up... scares me.

Any economist around?

Where are government vacancies advertised apart from PSC?

The PSC and the LGSC.
Then you have the semi-paraetatic who advertise on their own website. Saw that the MES posts its vacancies on its website, dunno if that appears on PSC though. Never verified.

The Broken Savatte Leponze Analogy

  1. IDS as technology: Yes and No. Yes, because instead of tiring ourselves more than we already are, by creating something, we prefer to click and order what we needed/wanted. No, because those who still have the guts to tire themselves a lil bit more but do not have a very creative mind (me), internet and all that comes along are blessings ^_^

  2. Creative in which field? :p :p :p

Glass Jars Painted Into Candle Holder

And.. DO NOT use rubber bands. I just tried to see if it works and would eventually create a non-painted spot on the jar.

But it was too thick and didn't allow the paint to flow down nicely.

Glass Jars Painted Into Candle Holder

I don't quite remember the price of the spray paint, as the one I used was a left-over. Vaguely, I would say Rs100-125. I think I also saw it in smaller quantity at Hobby World (Bourbon Street, Port Louis).

And t-light or tealight is a candle encased in a thin metal or plastic cup so that the candle can liquefy completely while lit. Not so expensive and comes in packs of 6 or 12 in almost any store.

Sweet & Sour Chicken Khairah Style

• Duration: 30 minutes (excluding 30 minutes marinating).

• Smart cooking: Cook the rice and cut the veggies while the chicken is marinating. Blanch the veggies while the chicken is being deep-fried.

• Tofu: Slice the tofu and deep fry. When the color turns light to medium brown, remove and set aside. Add to sauce at the same point where I added the veggies.

Aloo Champs / Potato Cake Recipe

OMG OMG OMG _ That's pretty awesome Gisssssssss :)
Im i m p r e s s e d !
'------> 8/10 for a first time :p

Tip 1:
When you make the oval part, roll it between your palms like you are rolling "dalgotni" so that the oval side becomes even, just like what we eat in dimsum, which we call "LONG" - boulette poisson.
Tip 2:
How to make garam masala: • 1 tbsp Cumin, 3 cloves, 4 cardamom and 1 big cinnamon stick. • Light-brown them in a non-oiled saucepan for around 2 minutes on medium-high fire by shaking the pan to move the ingredients. • Grind the mix into powder.
If you have powders of the above ingredients, you can take a lil bit of each powder, VERY lil bit... the whole to make like half of a teaspoon, then heat that mix in a saucepan and use it for the aloo champ.

Hope I didn't create confusion :|

My geeky attempt to write a computer program which represents true love

Love should start from an I LOVE YOU on tissue paper, go through a romantic dinner on the beach after a high-adrenaline duo bungee jump to BDSM in room. Nowadays it IS the case, the only thing is.. people write to one person, go dinner with another, jump with someone else and BDSM yet another one.

I jumped off bed, freshen up, bun up my hair with a pencil and started to remove the below ingredients while listening to Tumhari adaon pe mein vari vari ^_^ What made me vari vari: Halwa Greo! Mauritian Chicken Briani Recipe

On Eid ul Adha’s day, I decided to pamper myself with some vegetarian briani. But then, some friends called saying they are dropping by and asked me to try chicken briani instead - carnivorous bunch! A call to Australia later (mom’s), I started my way to the kitchen to make that Mauritian Chicken Briani which everyone loves. I had the misconception that cooking briani is tough, it's too yummy to be easy - I thought. But then, as I made it… I saw it wasn’t that tough at all. I just had to check t...

I love jams. I love pickles. I love jarred olives, onions, gherkins…. Now imagine when I opened my cupboard for cleaning, how many jars are found there!! I was thinking of throwing them but damn, I would feel sorry for throwing away such cuties. :p At that moment, I remembered that I had paint sprays left from a job I did last month. Sometimes I love myself for not throwing away things :p There were gold, lacquer, bronze, red, dark blue and fluo-pink. And the chosen one iiiiiiiissssssssssss…. ...

DIY Wall Painting Using Tapes

I don’t have any profound love for paintings, tableaux or anything affixed on the walls to beautify them – dust collectors. Nor do I like to have holes made in the walls because they kind of stay forever. Still, I wanted something warm, cozy and personal on my veranda wall because this room has large window panes with loads and loads of light and fresh air coming in. Moreover, I am thinking of having some potted plants placed around and zen-rocks aligned. So, I pinterested some DIY methods to ...

A Special DIY Yarn Wrapped Letter for Mother's Day

Things are so easily available nowadays. Clothes, mobiles, shoes, food, GIFTS! Be it for a birthday, wedding, anniversary, good results or bad results (consolation gifts)… the worry is not money – for most of us. What we don’t have is time. Time to be creative. Be creative to: make things you can call your own. Make your OWN to: please someone. Someone who? Someone whom we would accept to “spend” our precious time for. For example: Our Mom. So there I went, to meet my fortnightly children som...

Recipe of the Magical Cake (Gato Mazik)

When you are ill, yet hungry but can’t go out to buy nice gato pima to eat with bread, butter and hot tea in this rainy weather, you open your drawers and check ingredients you have at hand to make something quick. Something magical. DANG! Only 6 ingredients are required and you don’t need to be Merlin, believe me! The 6 Magical Ingredients 4 eggs (separate the whites from the yolks) 150 g sugar (3/4 cup) 125 g butter, soften (1/2 cup) 115 g flour (3/4 cup) 500 ml warm milk (2 cups) 1 tsp vani...

How I Set Out To Help Children Coming From Poor Families

I will, I won't, I will, I won't... I'm finally doing it! The group of companies I work for introduced a new CSR scheme and that's to give employees a choice of how they want to aid the society. While others preferred to contribute by giving money to some organisation or offering lunch/dinner to homes, I chose to give an hour each fortnight to kids coming from low Socio-Economic Status (SES) families. I was quite scared at first, because my colleagues told me "haaaawwww, those kids are not hygi...
